Siren is a fully featured social media web application. The application is implemented in JavaScript and features a React/Redux front-end UI which connects to a Node/Express.js REST API backend. Front-end frameworks like Material-UI were used to create modern stateful React components. Data was initially stored in a fire-store database and the app was bolstered with the use of GCP cloud functions. After noticing scalability issues with GCP, I made the decision to migrate Siren to a Postgres database, and began to use Nest.js as a modern backend framework.
